Eduscenario: practise real-world conversations, safely

The problem

Some skills only develop through practice — a difficult patient conversation, a negotiation, a support call. But real practice is scarce, uncomfortable to stage, and impossible to observe at scale. Educators can't sit in on every rehearsal, and students rarely get enough safe repetitions before the stakes are real.

What we built

Eduscenario lets each institution run its own courses and scenarios, then hands students an AI counterpart to converse with as many times as they need. Every conversation is scoped to a specific learning objective, so practice stays purposeful. Educators review the full transcript of every attempt, track completion, and see exactly where a cohort struggles — turning role-play from an unobservable one-off into measurable, repeatable coursework. A new institution can be live in under an hour.

Where AI earns its place

The AI is the practice partner: it stays in character, adapts to what the student says, and holds the scenario's objective throughout — the thing that makes unlimited, on-demand rehearsal possible. Crucially, it never grades in the dark. Educators see every exchange and keep pedagogical judgement where it belongs — with the teacher, not the model.

Approach & stack

We designed and built the platform end to end — multi-tenant course and content management, the conversational engine, and the educator review dashboard — on a modern TypeScript web foundation with containerised deployment and best-in-class LLM tooling. We chose the model and tooling to fit the pedagogy, not the other way around, and kept the whole platform maintainable enough that a small team can keep evolving it.

Outcome

Eduscenario is live and in active use. Each institution runs its own courses and content and can be up and running in under an hour, while educators keep full visibility — reviewing every conversation, tracking completion, and seeing exactly where a cohort struggles. Practice that used to be unobservable and one-off is now measurable, repeatable coursework.
